SABBATH HOUSE

Find Rest @ Tejas

A Sanctuary where guests can find peace, reflection, and a deeper connection with God

A PLACE OF REST

We’re thrilled to be part of God’s work here at Tejas. Our mission is to create a sanctuary where guests can find peace, reflection, and a deeper connection with God. Come join us at our Sabbath House for time of rest!

This is easily the best three days of my life! No work, no people, no noise. Just quietness. Just rest. I now understand why God literally demands us to take a Sabbath rest, not for Him, but for our souls…. I’m forever grateful for the love and sacrifice Tejas put in this house. Everything was designed with perfection. It’s a sanctuary. May God use this place to restore many of God’s servants. -Ed

Thank you, Tejas! Our lives are changed, we can truly say we go back home rested, renewed, and with a clear vision. God met us here and we are simply filled and ready to continue our journey and service. -Laura

SABBATH HOUSE FAQs

What is Sabbath?
  • Sabbath or Shabbat refers to a time of rest and worship. It involves ceasing from regular work and activities to focus on God, family, and personal reflection. This practice is rooted in the biblical command to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, emphasizing both physical and spiritual rest.
  • Exodus 31:17b – For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.
  • Isaiah 58:13-14 – “If you keep from desecrating the Sabbath, from doing whatever you want on my holy day; if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, seeking your own pleasure, or talking business; then you will delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride over the heights of the land, and let you enjoy the heritage of your father Jacob.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
  • Hebrews 4:9-11 – Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. For the person who has entered his rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from his. Let us, then, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.
  • Mark 2:27-18 – Then he told them, “The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. So then, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
How long can I stay?
  • We have a 2 night minimum stay requirement to ensure you will have at least one full day of Sabbath rest.
  • We have a 7 day/6 night maximum stay policy to ensure we can provide this opportunity for as many who need it as possible.
Are there any blackout dates?

We have designed the Sabbath House to be used year-round. If during the summer, guests will need to have a reference check and approved by the executive director for their stay. This is enure the safety of our summer camp program.
