As another month passes at Tejas, we’re grateful for the many reminders of God’s faithfulness. We’d love to share a few praises and prayer requests from the past weeks and invite you to join us in thanking Him for His goodness and praying for what’s ahead.

Discipleship Center!

Praise God for people who see the vision and future of Tejas and are always excited to help make it a reality. We recently received a lead gift for our Discipleship Center and are using that donation to begin the project by laying the foundations for both buildings. As additional funds come in, we will continue construction, with the goal of having at least one building ready for use by next summer.

Our Discipleship Center will house our summer staff during the summer months and our Gap students during the school year. Each building is designed with community in mind, featuring a kitchen and shared gathering space downstairs, with sleeping quarters located upstairs.

Please join us in praying that:

• God would continue to provide the resources needed to complete the Discipleship Center
• The project would move forward smoothly so that at least one building can be ready to serve staff by next summer
• This space would become a place where our staff and Gap students grow deeply in their faith
• God would use the Discipleship Center to shape future leaders who will impact their churches, campuses, and communities

Summer is 72 Days Away!

Our countdown is getting smaller and smaller! Our staff is wrapping up our visits to summer church groups as they plan and prepare for their time at Tejas. These visits give us a chance to make sure everyone is on the same page and to answer any questions before summer begins. Please pray for our summer groups as they finalize plans, that lives would be transformed this summer, and for our staff as they travel—that they would have safe journeys and meaningful conversations.

As we mentioned in our last Praises & Prayers email, the camp industry is facing new legislative requirements aimed at making camps safer across the state. We are continuing to work through those requirements, including creating an emergency orientation video, increasing exterior lighting to clearly mark safe egress paths, installing a campus-wide PA system, and moving forward with acquiring fiber internet. Please pray for wisdom and provision as we complete these projects and work to ensure Tejas remains a safe and welcoming place for every guest who comes this summer.

Summer Staff

Since our last update, we’ve hired five more summer staff members! We’re excited about the 39 staff members already committed, but we’re still praying for six more team members—especially guys—to join us this summer.

Our Summer Staff Manager, Clay, has one final recruiting event tonight at Texas A&M. Would you join us in praying as we finish out our hiring process—that God would bring the right people to our team, and specifically more guys to fill these remaining spots? If you know any 17–24-year-old guys looking for a meaningful and fulfilling summer job, we’d love for you to send them our way!

Next weekend (March 27–29) is our Summer Leadership Weekend, when many of our summer staff will be on-site interviewing for leadership roles. During the weekend, they’ll help with recreation activities, worship together, and take part in leadership sessions.

Pray with us that:

• Everyone who attends would grow through the experience
• Our vision for the summer at Tejas would be clearly communicated
• God would make it clear who should step into our leadership positions

Corners of the Field

Our Corners of the Field ministry is inspired by the biblical practice of leaving the corners of the field for the widow and the sojourner to glean (Leviticus 19:9–10). We’re always looking for ways to give back and serve where there’s a need.

A local church reached out to us last month, and through that conversation, we learned how deeply they are involved in serving the homeless community in their area. Since then, we’ve been praying through what it could look like to “take camp to them” this summer. Would you join us in praying for wisdom and clarity as we explore a potential partnership with this church? Our hope is to bring the camp experience to kids who may have never had the opportunity to attend before.

Thank you for taking time to pray for Tejas. Your prayers are an important part of what God is doing here, and we’re grateful to share this ministry with you.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
