Join us on Saturday, November 21st, for our first annual Fishes and Throws event at Tejas Camp & Retreat! Don’t miss this action-packed day of competition for a good cause – multiplying our Corners of the Field ministry!
The name Fishes and Throws is a creative nod to the amazing miracle of Fishes and Loaves (Matthew 14). Just as Jesus multiplied a small offering to feed the 5,000, Tejas is multiplying our ministry of hospitality through this unique fundraiser.
Our Corners of the Field Ministry is inspired by the biblical practice of leaving the corners of the field for the widow and the sojourner to glean (Leviticus 19:9-10). At Tejas, this practice becomes our commitment to share God’s abundance with those who are seeking rest, refuge, and reconnection. Through Corners of the Field, we’re able to provide scholarships to family events, host dedicated gatherings for foster families, and provide a peaceful, restorative stay at the Sabbath House for individuals or couples in need of a spiritual retreat.
It’s all part of our mission: setting the stage for Jesus to transform lives.
Corners of the Field ensures that even those who might not otherwise be able to attend are welcomed into a place where God can do exactly that.
Your participation helps fund Corners of the Field Scholarships—our commitment to extending the rest, restoration, and Christ-centered hospitality of Tejas to those who need it most. Your support fuels the Sabbath House, Foster Family Getaways, family events, and every initiative that opens the door for guests to encounter Jesus in a meaningful way.

How It Works
Signing up is simple—and your participation directly helps us set the stage for Jesus to transform even more lives through our Corners of the Field ministry.
Registration Options:
- Individual – $150 (includes one player package)
- Family – $250 (includes one player package plus additional shirts for each family member)
- Team of 4 – $600 (includes four player packages)
Once you’re registered, you’ll invite your friends, family, coworkers, church community, and broader network to support you by giving toward your fundraising goal. Your activity becomes the catalyst—but it’s your community’s generosity that multiplies the impact, just like the miracle of the Fishes and Loaves.
Fundraising & Prizes
After you register, we want to make fundraising as simple — and successful — as possible. Every participant, family or team will receive a personalized fundraising webpage, where you can easily share your story, track your progress, and watch your impact grow. We’ll also provide ready-to-use graphics for social media or text messages, a “fundraising tips” page, and more!
We encourage each individual or team to aim for a $3,000 fundraising goal. We will provide resources for you to use, including a personalized fundraiser website to track your goal progress.

FISHES & THROWS SCHEDULE (TENTATIVE)
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Optional) –Join us for breakfast and Serve Day in the morning!
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM – Check In and Lunch
12:45 PM – Opening Ceremony
1:00 PM – 4:30 PM – Fishing and Disc Golf Tournaments!
5:30 PM – Friendsgiving Dinner and Awards Ceremony
There will be rooms available if you’d like to come in on Friday and/or stay Saturday night. Rooms are given on a first-come, first-served basis, and preference will be given to guests coming in from out of town.
There will also be space available to shower if you’d like to clean up between the tournaments and Friendsgiving Dinner (if you’re not staying overnight).
