What types of groups can host a retreat at Tejas?
Tejas serves church groups, schools, and non-profit organizations during retreat season looking for quality hospitality, exceptional facilities, and a Christ-centered retreat experience. Whether you’re planning a student retreat, men’s conference, women’s ministry getaway or a church-wide famiky experience, our facilities are designed to accommodate different group sizes and needs for a weekend away, a single-day event or a mid-week getaway.
When does Tejas host retreats?
Retreat season at Tejas runs during the school year from late August to mid-November and January to early-May.
What kind of facilities and amenities are available?
Tejas provides comprehensive services, including lodging, food services, and diverse recreational activities suitable for various age groups. We aim to handle many of the logistical details so that your leadership team can focus on the spiritual and communal goals of the retreat.
What are the lodging options?
We offer two primary types of accommodations: Private Rooms and Bunkhouses.

Private Rooms: Designed for 4–6 guests, these provide a “hotel-style” experience, complete with a private bathroom. All linens and towels are provided by the camp.

Bunkhouses: These larger units are designed to sleep between 12–20 people. They feature shared bathroom facilities with multiple toilets and showers. Please plan to bring your own linens (sleeping bags or sheets/blankets) and towels for your stay.
Does Tejas provide activities for our group?
Yes, we offer a wide range of activities on-site. When planning your schedule, you can coordinate with the Tejas staff to utilize our facilities and recreational options to keep your group engaged and connected. And all activities are included in your retreat package, including activities you schedule exclusively for your group!
Are meals included in the retreat pricing?
Yes, meals are included in the price. Additional snacks and drinks are available for purchase in the HUB (coffee and gift shop).
Can Tejas accommodate dietary restrictions?
We strive to accommodate a variety of dietary needs—including common requests like gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options—to ensure all our guests are well-fed and cared for. Notably, our kitchen is strictly nut-free. As part of the planning process, our team will ask you to provide a list of all the dietary restrictions for your group before your stay so that we have the necessary preparations in place.
Is there a minimum group size during retreat season?
No, there is not a minimum size requirement to book during retreat season. Contract us so we can check our availablitiy and find the best fit for your group!
What is the maximum capacity during retreat season?
During retreat season, we can accommodate up to 600 guests across property.
How many groups at Tejas at one time during retreat season?
On retreat weekends, we are typically hosting 3-5 groups at the same time. However, for larger groups, we offer the ability to reserve our property for exclusive use. If a group is interested in having exclusive use of the entire Tejas property, the minimum requirement is 325 guests. For a group with at least 250 guests, we offer exclusivity for the front/main part of Tejas.
Do you have staff on-site during retreats?
Yes, our team is available throughout your stay to support your group.
Can we customize our retreat schedule?
Yes! We work closely with you to build a schedule that aligns perfectly with your group’s goals. Whether you have specific requirements for meeting times, recreational activities, or downtime, our team is here to help structure your stay to make it as impactful as possible.
How is the pricing configured?
Rates vary depending on the length of your stay, whether you come over a weekend or during the mid-week, and the type of lodging you select. All our rates are per person and include lodging, meals, all activities, a meeting space for your group and even a campfire! When should we start the process to book our retreat?
Because we prioritize giving our current groups the first opportunity to rebook their dates for the following year, our calendar fills up quickly. We generally recommend starting the conversation about 12 months in advance. However, some seasons are more popular than others, so we encourage you to reach out with your interest as soon as possible. Our priority is to help you secure a time that works for your group so you can make it to Tejas!
Can we visit before booking?

Where is Tejas located?
Tejas is located at 1038 Pvt Rd 2191, Giddings, TX 78942. Its location is designed to provide a break from the city, allowing groups to focus on God, community with their group and nature.
Do you host events besides retreats?
Yes! Our calendar changes throughout the year:

Retreats (August–November and January–early May): We host a variety of church and group retreats.

Summer Camps (June–August): We partner with groups to host summer camp experiences.

Family Events: We host special family events during major holidays, including Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
